Have you ever needed to remember something, maybe a list of groceries or a phone number, and made a song out of the words or numbers to help memorize it? If so, then you already know how much even a simple rhythm can affect words.
There's a reason that all of us know what happened to the itsy-bitsy spider that crawled up the water spout, and in "Words with Rhythm" we will explore how songs and rhymes affect our lives, and how they can help us in everyday life. Even if you're not a poet or a musician.
Using music, poems, and even stories as examples, we will learn about how to go about writing a rhythmic piece, learn about literary concepts such as alliteration, assonance, and multi-syllabic rhymes, and create our very own piece of rhythmic writing.
