Time and Tide is a four-person show at the Blue Door Gallery of beautiful watercolors, assemblages and installation pieces inspired by the Hudson River and the history of the Hudson Valley.
The four renowned local artists are Lewis Cohen, Ellen Hopkins Fountain, Leslie Miller and Kathleen Yacoe. A shrine to the river gods will be the center of one installation and all will be invited to send messages to the river gods. In conjunction with Groundwork Hudson Valley a free art workshop will be held at the Closing Reception to make miniature wild-crafted ships. Then in a public ceremony at Van Der Donck Park, the “green” ships will be floated from the shrine down the Saw Mill River with some of the messages.
Opening Reception: Thursday September 12th, 5-7.30pm
Closing Reception: Saturday October 5th, 4.30-6pm
