Blue Door Art Center is starting 2015 with a Worldly spin, as we join forces with Indy Convergence; an internationally acclaimed Arts Organization, in direct support of artists in Jacmel, Haiti and the construction of the world's first “Earthship” Amphitheater and Community Arts Center in the nearby village of Oban. Spun in the Sand: An Exhibition of Haitian Art will now be showing at Blue Door Gallery from January 10th- February 7th, in order to extend this effort in helping the Haitian Community, as well as bringing one of a kind Art to the people of Yonkers and NYC. We want to thank our members for sharing the Gallery during the annual Member's only show, as the continuation of the build will be happening simultaneously as the show's duration.
Join us for the opening reception on Saturday, January 10th, from 2pm-5pm, and don't miss a special night of Haitian Dance, Music, Art, and Culture: A Performance and Open Mic on Friday, January 30th at 7pm.
Come celebrate with us the richness of Haitian Culture, beautiful artwork and a presentation of the Indy Convergence and the Sakalakawel Community Arts Center build in Haiti. Enjoy music and refreshments, we hope to see you there!
